History

Even before the 1961 families of Cerveteri cultivated grapes and made wine, but it was in September of that year, in a rich Italian changes, they decided to unite and create a cooperative. Thus was born the Cantina Cerveteri, consisting today of about 300 members producers who, from generation to generation, passed on their passion for the vine and wine in an unbreakable bond with the territory.

The Territory

Cantina Cerveteri in fifty years has become one of the leading wine producers in central Italy and in particular the Lazio Region. The extension of the vineyards starts from Fiumicino to get to Montalto di Castro, obviously passing through Cerveteri, Ladispoli, Tarquinia, Bracciano, Anguillara, Manzanita and Santa Marinella.

The Grapes

In these fifty years the Partners have taken steps to diversify the variety of grapes of about 550 hectares of vineyards planted, so in addition to Trebbiano, Toscano and Candia’s and Lazio’s Malvasia, there are vineyards of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino and Vionier. In red, the classic Sangiovese and Montepulciano, were intergrated from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah.

Production

Today the winery produces wine DOC Cerveteri and Tarquinia and many DOC wines such as Chardonnay IGT, Merlot and Vermentino. The Group exports all over the world (Canada, Japan, Netherlands, Russia, Germany, China, Bulgaria) helping to spread the name of Cerveteri, its products and their quality, giving luster to a territory and receiving many awards.
